A voting percentage will be increased with active involvement of all sections of society: D.K. Rattan
SHIMLA----A meeting of Nodal Officers of various departments was held here today in the office of Chief Electoral Officer. Additional Chief Electoral Officer D.K. Rattan while presiding over the meeting said that voting percentage will be increased in the coming Lok Sabha election with active involvement of all departments and general public.+
He said awareness campaign will be launched throughout the state to ensure participation of each section of eligible voters in the election. Special campaign has already been launched for involvement of eligible voters attaining the age of 18 years. SMS messages and telephonic communication was held with youth in this age group.
He said all facilities will be extended to persons with disabilities so that all of them are able to cast their vote comfortably and at polling booths nearest to their residences.
He said physical verification of polling stations will be conducted in the state so that all necessary facilities are available in all the polling stations. He asked all the nodal officers of various departments to chart a plan to complete their election related tasks with in stipulated time.
