Vedas have power to guide society: Acharya Devvrat

SHIMLA------The two-day national conference on the theme "the tradition of Vedic studies in Pubjab and Vedic Social Values" organised by Dayanand Chair for Vedic Studies, Punjab University Chandigarh in association with Maharishi Sandipani Rashtriya Ved Vidya Pratishthan Ujjain concluded today.

Speaking during the closing ceremony of the conference as chief guest, Governor Acharya Devvrat said that Vedas were the basis of our culture, which gives us the message of humanity and brotherhood. He said we can maintain peace and harmony in the society by spreading the message of the Vedas.

He said that Punjab has been the land of Sages and Mahatmas and has been following the traditions of the Vedic culture. He said that the Vedas have the power to guide the society on a right path. Swami Dayanand ji and Swami Shraddhanand ji contributed significantly for propagation of Vedic culture in Punjab and today we need to carry forward this tradition.

Prof. Harmohinder Singh Bedi, Chancellor of Central University, Himachal Pradesh welcomed the Governor on the occasion and detailed about the Punjabi Ram Kavya Pandu script and stressed on preserving valuable Vedic text .

He presented a book "Bhartiya Bhashaon mein Ram Katha-Panjabi Bhasha" to the Governor.

Dr. Virupaksh V. Jaddipal, Secretary, Ved Vidya Pratishthan, Ujjain also spoke on the occasion.

Hans Raj Gandhar, Advisor, DAV Management Committee, New Delhi highlighted the teachings of Swami Dayanand Saraswati
