SHIMLA-----Justice Sandeep Sharma and Justice Justice Chander Bhusan Barowalia,
were sworn-in as the Judges of the Himachal Pradesh High Court today. They were administered oath of Office by the Acting Chief Justice Sanjay Karol in a simple but impressive ceremony held in the High Court. Before this, they were serving as the Additional Judges of the High Court. The other Judges of H.P. High Court, Justice Dharam Chand Chaudhary, Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan, Justice Sureshwar Thakur, Justice Vivek Singh Thakur and Justice Ajay Mohan Goel were also present on the occasion.
The Registrar General, Sh. Rajeev Bhardwaj conducted the proceedings. He read out the Warrants of appointment issued by the President of India appointing Justice Sandeep Sharma and Justice Chander Bhusan Barowalia, as Judges of the High Court of H.P.
Justice Sandeep Sharma was born on 20th July, 1968 at Shimla. He belongs to a very respectable & religious family. Originally, he belongs to Village Bijapur, Tehsil Amb, District Una, H.P. He did his schooling from DAV School, Sanjauli & GSSS Lalpani Shimla. He graduated from Government Degree College, Sanjauli, Shimla and did his LLB in first class from Himachal Pradesh University in year 1993. He got enrolled as an Advocate with the Bar Council of H.P. in year 1993 and joined illustrious Chamber of late Sh. P.A. Sharma, Senior Advocate and practiced under his good guidance up to 1996. Thereafter, he started practice independently in the High Court of Himachal Pradesh and practiced in all branches of law. Prior to elevation, he handled all types of cases relating to original side, Appellate Side, Civil, Criminal, Constitutional, Company, Taxation, Corporate and Insurance matters and also remained the standing Counsel of CBI, BSNL, Central Excise, UGC, RPFC and Armed Forces etc. He was appointed as Assistant Solicitor General of India in the year 2004 at the very young age of 36, and remained, as such, till 2014. He was elevated as Additional Judge of High Court of Himachal Pradesh on 12.04.2016 and assumed the office, as such, on 12th April, 2016(F.N.).
Justice Chander Bhusan Barowalia was born on 15th March,1961. He did B.Sc. (Medical) in 1st Division, from Government College Shimla and L.L.B, P.G.D.P.M. & L.W. from HP University Shimla. He practiced as an advocate from November 1984 to Jan 2003 in H.P. High Court and other Courts in Shimla. He practiced in Constitutional, Civil, Criminal, Revenue, Consumer & Service matters & Co-Authored commentary on H. P. Panchayati Raj Act. He remained unanimously elected Vice President of the H.P. High Court Bar association for two terms continuously. He also remained on the panel of B.S.N.L.,H.R.T.C, Employees Provident Fund Organization, United India Insurance Company, Agro Industries Corporation, Punjab National Bank & represented other Govt. Organizations also. On his appointment as Addl. District and Sessions Judge on 10 Jan, 2003, he remained posted as Officer on special duty in the H.P. High Court. He also remained ADJ (2) Kangra at Dharamshala, ADJ (1) Kangra at Dharamshala., District and Sessions Judge Kinnaur at Rampur Bushahr, President, District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum for Kangra & Chamba Districts at Dharamshala, District and Sessions Judge Una and District & Sessions Judge Solan, District & Sessions Judge, Mandi, Registrar( Judicial), H.P. High Court, Shimla, Director, H.P. Judicial Academy, Shimla and thereafter remained posted as Registrar General, High Court of H.P., Shimla till elevation as Additional Judge of High Court of Himachal Pradesh, Shimla on 12th April, 2016.
