SHIMLA---Governor and Chief Minister mourn death of accident victims Governor Acharya Devvrat and Chief Minister, Shri Virbhadra Singh expressed grief over the death of 13 passengers who were killed in tragic mishap in Nichar Valley on Bada Kamba road, where a Bolero Camper carrying 14 passengers veered off the road and landed into a deep gorge besides nine other who lost their lives in a bus accident at Bajroli bridge four kilometres beyond Sainj on Theog-Chopal Road. The Bus was on its way from Shimla to Tharoch. Governor in his condolence message has prayed to the Almighty to grant peace to the departed soul and give strength to the bereaved families to bear this irreparable loss. In his condolence message the Chief Minister said that it was very unfortunate that in two days, 36 people died in three major accidents in the State, the one in Chamba in which 14 people lost their lives and the other in Nichar Valley of Kinnaur district late last night, and the third one of HRTC bus today morning in which as per latest reports nine people succumbed to their injuries. Issuing advisory, especially to the young, the Chief Minister said that the drivers should be very cautious while driving and should avoid negligent driving. Though report of both the accidents which occurred yesterday was still to come, yet as per initial reports and statement of eyewitness, it was the negligence on part of the drivers, which led to the tragedy on both the occasions, of Chamba and Kinnaur mishap. He said the law and order agencies should strictly take action against those violating traffic norms and driving while drinking and using mobile phones. "We can't tolerate loss of precious lives due to negligence on part of drivers and human error", he said. Expressing condolences, the Chief Minister said that may the soul of those who lost their lives in all major three accidents rest in peace and may God provide strength to their family members who lost their dear ones. Meanwhile as per reports from Kinnaur Deputy Commissioner, a sum of Rs 25,000 had been given to the next of kin of the deceased and Rs 10,000 to the only one injured. It was reported the Bolero Camper was carrying passengers back from marriage party, on Bada Kamba road, opposite Taranda Dhang on right bank of River Sutlej, where the accident took place. In HRTC bus accident near Bajroli Bridge, today both driver and conductor died. As per SDM, Theog, relief would be provided to the kin of deceased and the injured as per relief manual, where as Rs. 50,000 has been given to next of kin of the deceased of one family only and the rest of the bodies were being identified.
