Shimla----Eight Passengers were died and 25 others were injured when a Recong Peo-bound state bus fell down in a deep gorge near Jogindernagar of Mandi district tonight.Police sources said Himachal Pradesh Transport Corporation bus, driven by a newly recruited driver, fell down near Golu of Joginderngar carrying about 40 people. Eight were reported dead on the spot and casualty may go up. Rescue operation have been hampered due to darkness of night.
However, the rescue teams have been sent to evacuate the injured trapped in the wreckage of bus, which fell down in150 feet deep gorge.The accident occurred when Dharmshala-Recong-Peo bus fell down at 2045 hrs near Golu in Mandi district of Joginderngar subdivision. Most of the injured having fatal injuries were rushed to the PGI Chandigarh while others were admitted in Jogindernagar Hospital. Deputy Commissioner and SP are on the spot along with rescue team.
