State Red Cross to honour blood donors

SHIMLA---Health and Family Welfare Minister Shri Kaul Singh Thakur presided over the State Red Cross Executive Committee meeting here today to boost Red Cross activities in the State. Various welfare related activities being undertaken by the Red Cross were discussed in the meeting.
Shri Thakur said that Himachal Pradesh Red Cross Society would honour those donors who had donated blood more than 100 times. He said this would go a long way in motivating the others for this noble cause.
Health Minister said that State Red Cross Society was working for the welfare of poor, needy and suffering humanity and more efforts would be made in this direction. He said that matter regarding continuation of annual grant of Rs. five lakh was also discussed in the meeting. He directed all the Deputy Commissioners to deposit 30 percent contribution of District Red Cross Branch to State Red Cross Society.
Secretary to Governor Shri Pushpender Rajput, Official and Non Official Members of Himachal Pradesh Red Cross Executive also gave their valuable suggestions in the meeting.
