CM Praises Shanta Kumar

Vijyender Sharma

JAWALAMUKHI---While answering media questions on his relations with former Chief Minister  , Shanta Kumar, the Himachal Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh at Jawalamukhi today said that though there exists difference of ideologies between him and Shanta Kumar but he was a man of principles and knew the difference between ruling and opposition quite well. Chief Minister said that both the ruling and the opposition used to work together and Shanta Kumar never used the type of language as Dhumals were doing so.

On being asked about the derogatory remarks of Arun Dhumal, Chief Minister said that since Prem Kumar Dhumal became the Chief Minister, there was no word as 'decency' in his dictionary. He acts with vengeance, but I would like to remind him to carry his duties responsibly,  being leader of opposition in Vidhan Sabha and should co-operate in carrying out the Vidhan Sabha sessions. I hope that the Session will go smoothly and the opposition will co-operate with us.

On being asked about the raids conducted by the enforcement directorate the Chief Minister said that  the same matter is reported time and again. He said that it was surprising that three different Central agencies have started investigations in one single case pertaining to the Income Tax returns which was already before the Income Tax Department and Appellate authorities. The over indulgence of various investigating agencies in a single case clearly indicated that the agencies were under tremendous political pressure and furthur  that Anurag and Arun Dhumal in unison with a senior central leader has resorted to all cheap tactics and launched a tirade against me.

As far as the issue of Central University (CU) is concerned, the Chief Minister said that this matter was along pending and the BJP created unnecessary hurdles in paving the way for its construction. CU was to be constructed in Kangra but because of Anurag Thakur it is in limbo. He  has created misunderstanding amongst the people and was proposing to construct two campuses of the CU.

The Chief Minister said that he had consultation with the Ministry of Human resources and had invited the concerned Minister for joint inspection of the site which has been selected near Chintpurni.
