SHIMLA----The Himachal Unit of Congress Party on Thursday strongly criticized the Union government for using state broadcaster Doordarshan to air RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat's address, saying it as the blatant misuse of the official machinery.
" Today I am not surprised to hear that RSS chief' s speech to be aired on the National broadcaster Doordarshan. You first set a wrong precedent and then repeat the first precedent in the second instance" Congress State spokesperson Deepak Sharma said while talking to reporters.
"Here the government's master is definitely not the PM, but the one who actually sits in Nagpur. The real His Master's voice's (HMV's) broadcast through the state medium raises serious concerns on government's ethics. This is the broad conspiracy to propagate the agenda of semi-cultural outfit," he said.
Every year, the RSS chief speaks on the occasion of Vijayadashmi. The day assumes significance as Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar founded the RSS on this day at Nagpur in 1925. Mr Bhagwat is going to address the swayamsevaks and spell out the outfit's agenda for the year.
"No institution or its chief has been aired in our country on any festive or religious occasion in this country. This is the most unfortunate, gross, blatant misuse of official government largesse and machinery," said Mr.Sharma.
