Governor stresses for preservation of rich culture of Himachal

SHIMLA-- Governor Acharya Devvrat inaugurated the International Folk Dance Festival Kullu Dusshehra - 2015 at Lal Chand Prarthi Kala Kendra, Kullu last evening.
Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said that we should take inspiration from the life of Lord Rama and follow highest ideals of truth, discipline, dedication and service in order to lead an ideal life and build a healthy society. He said that good people make a good society hence each one of us should strive to become good human beings.
He said that fairs and festivals celebrated in the State upheld the rich traditions and customs of the Pradesh besides strengthening the bonds of fraternity and brotherhood. They play a major role in preserving our folk arts and culture as well, he added.
Acharya Devvrat said that youth were participating in these cultural events which was laudable as they were the future of the country and should be well versed with our rich traditional practices so that they can be preserved for future generations.
The Governor said that Himachal Pradesh had maintained its unique identity especially the ' Dev Parampara ' since generations which was a great achievement. The credit for the same went to the people of the state, he added.
Sh Karan Singh Ayurveda Minister and Chairman International Kullu Dusshehra Festival Organizing Committee welcomed the Governor and briefed about the highlights of the week long festival.
Present among others on the occasion were Sh Satpal Maharaj Former Union Minister, Sh Rakesh Kanwar Deputy Commissioner, Senior officers of State Government and Prominent people of the town.
