SHIMLA----The High Court of Himachal Pardesh today directed State to file fresh reply in the matter of Labour – Bouncer clash which took place at IIT, Campus, Kamad, Mandi in the month of June, 2015. The Court today appointed senior Advocate R.K. Bawa as Amicus Curiae to assist the Court in this matter. The court further asked the state that whether there is need of issuing licence for self protection in the state or not. The matter has now been fixed for 3.11.2015 for further hearing.
A Division Bench comprising the Chief Justice Mansoor Ahmad Mir and Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan passed these orders on a petition taken up suo moto by the Court as Public Interest Litigation on a news item published in various news papers on 22/6/2015 regarding killing of 4 bouncers by the labourers at IIT, Mandi on 20.06.2015. Four bouncers employed by the Labour Contractor were killed in side the campus of IIT, Kamad, Mandi.
