Breaking News--High Court directed the Chief Information Commissioner, Bhim Sen, to remain present before the Court

SHIMLA---The High Court directed the Chief Information Commissioner, Bhim Sen,  to remain present before the Court on 9.10.2015 to explain as to why contempt proceedings may not be initiated against him for deliberately disobeying the orders passed by the High Court.

Today due to unavoidable circumstances he could not appear before the court as he was directed by the Court on the previous date of hearing. On application for seeking exemption, his personal appearance for today, he was exempted by the court and was further directed to remain present on the next date of hearing. The other contemnor, The State Information Commissioner, K.D. Batish was present in the court and he seeks two weeks time to file reply to the show cause notice and the same was granted by the Court. 

The Division Bench Comprising Justice Dharma Chand Chaudhary  and Justice PS Rana passed these orders on a contempt petition filed by Priyanka Gandhi Wadra. It was alleged in the petition that  contemnors have violated the orders passed by the High Court willfully, whereby the execution and operation of order passed by State Information Commissioner was stayed. It is alleged in the contempt that despite stay order passed by the High Court in the writ petition filed by the petitioner, the State Information commissioner proceeded with the matter and had summoned the record from Deputy Commissioner Shimla, ADM   Shimla and Tehsildar Rural  for 20.8.2015 in the matter pertaining to the information relating  to land purchased by Priyanka Gandhi Wadra for construction of house in Shimla.
