SHIMLA------Forest Minister Shri Thakur Singh Bharmouri and Vice Chairman of the State Forest Development Corporation Shri Kewal Singh Pathania today met Congress President Smt. Sonia Gandhi at New Delhi and apprised her about the achievements of the State Forest Department.
It was a courtesy call.
Shri Bharmouri apprised that the work on Rohtang tunnel was in progress and 4.5 kms. long tunnel had already been completed. He said that the survey for Holi-Chamunda and Pangi-Tissa tunnels had been completed and after the completion of these tunnels the people of the State would be benefited besides giving boost to tourism activities.
The Forest Minister apprised Smt. Sonia Gandhi that the State Government was performing upto the expectations of the people under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh and various milestones had been established during last around 18 months.
He also invited Smt. Gandhi to visit tribal areas of the State which she accepted and was expected to come to the State during the month of September or October this year.
