PARWANoo---Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh on second day of his visit to Solan district today inaugurated and performed Foundation stone laying ceremonies of projects worth Rs 24 crore. He laid foundation stone for augmentation of multipurpose Agriculture Produce Management block to be constructed with an outlay of Rs 10 crore at Parwanoo and also laid foundation stone of augmentation of Drinking Water Supply Scheme at Parwanoo under Urban Infrastructure Development Scheme for Small and Medium Towns to be constructed with an outlay of Rs. 7.27 crore. The scheme would benefit Parwanoo town.
Chief Minister also inaugurated Car parking at Parwanoo constructed at a cost of Rs. 48 lakh and will have parking facility for 70 small vehicles, besides laying foundation stone of Community Hall at Parwanoo to be completed at cost of Rs 32 Lakh. The Chief Minister also flagged off Mudrika bus for industrial area around Parwanoo and two buses from Parwanoo to Bhojnagar. He inaugurated Agriculture Produce Marketing Yard completed at a cost of Rs 1.32 crore on outskirts of Parwanoo.
Chief Minister laid foundation stone of Science Block in Government Senior Secondary School, Bhojnagar to be completed with an estimated cost of Rs. 82.37 lakh. He also inaugurated Community Health Centre building Dharampur constructed at a cost of Rs. 1.21 crore.
Earlier, the Chief Minister while addressing a public meeting at Parwanoo announced Tipra Village to be taken out of TCP area and connecting it by a link road from sector-1 at Parwanoo.
He said that he was pleased to dedicate various development schemes to the residents of Parwanoo and its suburbs. " I have received a complaint that the water rates being taken from the residents in Parwanoo were higher and I assure that the residents of the town will now get the water on prevailing rates of IPH", said the Chief Minister.
He said that Parwanoo was a Gateway to the State and I promise that it would be developed as a big commercial centre in times to come and Government will take appropriate steps to give a face-lift to the town. He said that Parwanoo would be developed as a commercial township. He remarked that two more bore-wells would be set up in sector 4 and 5 in the town and sanctioned Rs 1.65 crore for Parwanoo--Naryal Road.
Referring to the APMC yard he inaugurated, the Chief Minister said that this will give an appropriate platform to the horticulturists and farmers of the State for storing and marketing their produce.
He said that Himachal Pradesh was heading towards becoming an Industrial hub but it was a fact to be considered that the Agriculture and Horticulture was and will, remain, the mainstay of the people of the State.
He said that such small yards would also be set up in rural areas of the State. He said that the farmers should grow more cash crops. On an issue pertaining to apple cartons raised by the people at Parwanoo , the Chief Minister said that the use of corrugated cartons was environment friendly and people should accept the same and said that the vacant land around the yard would be given to the marketing committee for their use.
The Chief Minister was given a warm welcome on the way and he also listened to the grievances of the people en-route Parwanoo to Shimla.

Rahul Thakur, Ex-Minister, Sh Raghu Raj, Ex MLA Major Krishna Mohini, Vice-Chairman Khadi Board, Sh Ramesh Chauhan, President Nagar Parishad Solan, Sh Kul Rakesh Pant, Member BoD HPTDC, Shri Surinder Sethi, General Secretary, State Congress Committee, Sh Vinod Sultanpuri, Chairman Jogindera Bank, Sh Mohan Mehta, Deputy Commissioner, Sh. Madan Chauhan, SP Sh Ramesh Chhajta were also present on the occasion among senior officers of the district administration.
