Dharmshala--Bharat Bandh, in protest against the gangrape of the 23-year-old girl in a Delhi bus, today failed to evoke any response in various towns of Kangra District of Himachal Pardesh with all shops, business establishments, schools government offices and banks functioning normally. However complete bandh was observed at Nagrota Bagwan and partial at Gaggal. This morning, the shops and business establishments remained closed in this town. However, in view of the lack of required leadership the shopkeepers raised their shutters and started working as usual. The traffic plied normally and schools and colleges functioned as usual. Nagrota Bagwan town observed a complete bandh with shops and business establishments remaining closed for the day. Partial bandh was observed at Gaggal town. There was no report of any untoward incident reported from any part of the subdivision. Life was normal and shops and business establishments remained open at Jawalamukhi temple town, Dehra and other towns of the Dehra subdivision of this district. Dharamshala and other towns of the district evoked no response to the bandh call.
