He celebrated his appointment when the funeral of a jawan was taking place just a stone’s throw from the celebration spot

Kangra: In an embarrassing incident for Anurag Thakur, MP from Hamirpur and recently appointed chief of the BJP’s youth wing BJYM, shocking insensitivity was displayed celebrating his appointment as the Yuva Morcha chief at Sanot in district Kangra.

This all happened while the funeral of slain CRPF jawan Pankaj Bhadial, who was killed in the Tuesday’s Maoist attack, was taking place half a kilometer away.

As per media reports Anurag Thakur was celebrating his election as the President of the BJP’s Youth Wing in Sanot village in Kangra. But just half a kilometer away Pankaj Bhadial’s funeral was taking place. Pankaj Bhadial was among the 27 CRPF men killed by Maoists on Tuesday.

Anurag Thakur even visited the martyr’s house to attend the funeral but just moments later he was seen celebrating his appointment a little distance away.

The Congress has lashed out at Anurag Thakur calling his actions unacceptable.

‘It’s total insensitivity on part of BJP leader Anurag Thakur towards CRPF jawan, who was killed in Tuesday’s Maoist attack in Chhattisgarh,’ state Congress chief Kaul Singh Thakur said.

‘He celebrated his appointment when the funeral of a jawan was taking place just a stone’s throw from the celebration spot. If the celebrations were planned in advance, they can be postponed or cancelled as a mark of respect towards the national hero,’ said the Congress leader.
