Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister Himachal Pradesh being greeted on his 65th birthday at Shimla today.

SHIMLA,April 10,2008---Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister was greeted today on his 65th birthday on telephone by Dr. Manmohan Singh, Prime Minister of India, Shri Atal Behari Vajpayee, former Prime Minister, Shri Lal Krishan Advani, Leader of Opposition in the Parliament and former Deputy Prime Minister, Shri Raj Nath Singh, National President BJP, Sh. V.S.Kokje, Governor of Himachal Pradesh, Governors and Chief Ministers of various States, Union Ministers, Members of Parliament, senior leaders of various political parties and dignitaries from different parts of the country. Cabinet Colleagues, Members of Legislative Assembly, senior bureaucrats, freedom fighters, former MLAs, people from different walks of life belonging to all faiths and above all common men also thronged his official residence, Oak Over with flowers to wish him long life here today.

HP Secretariat Officers and Officials Organizations organized a blood donation camp in the Secretariat premises to mark the celebration, which was inaugurated by the Chief Minister himself. Similar programmes were organized at various places by BJP workers and various organizations to celebrate the birthday of their dear leader. In a number of places, the party workers distributed fruits and sweets among the patients admitted in hospitals, lepers and under privileged children of society by visiting their colonies.

Prof. Dhumal thanked the people of the State for the love and affection showered by them on his birthday, which inculcated new spirit and energy in him to work for the State, especially for the welfare and development of common man, more vigorously. He appealed to the people to continue their support in all his future endeavours so that he could work more hard to make the life of common man better, socially and economically more secure. He assured the people that the State was poised to gain new heights in all the major sectors in coming years.
